Empowering 50 Lead Educators with Media Literacy and Digital Competencies (2/2) | Loveline M. Chiaga

Day 2 of "Empowering 50 Lead Educators with Media Literacy and Digital Competencies in the South West Region" was an exciting experience for all participants.

The morning session began with a deep dive into the MINESEC Distance Education website by our renowned presenter Robert Kenfack who engaged the participants in hands-on activities that helped them not to only navigate its virtual corridors but to equally harness its potential and create practical digital lessons worthy of the site.

From there, we embarked on a journey through the digital realm led by our esteemed presenters: Nde Lovert, Loveline M Chiaga, and Robert Kenfack. Edpuzzle, Kahoot, Quizziz, Canva, and Capcut - these tools were transformed from mere names to powerful allies to educators as they learned how to create engaging content for their classrooms and to infuse their lessons with creativity and interactivity.

But what is education without application? What good is knowledge if it remains confined to textbooks? Our distinguished speaker, Ndifor Richard, drilled the participants on project-based learning. Educators realized how practical and achievable it is to implement projects in their classrooms thus, seamlessly bridging the gap between theory and practice.

Overall, the two-day training was highly successful and beneficial and left the participants eager to attend more such training sessions in the future.

This transformative project owes its existence to the Global Teacher Grants 2023-2024, facilitated by the Fulbright Teacher Exchanges and sponsored by IREX. I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our community's teaching and learning landscape.
