Whenever we talk about Digitalization, we talk also about which credible software resource we can reach out to in the world wide web in order to make our lesson engaging, be it a face-to-face, virtual or hybrid one.
In one of the November Pedagogic Days which took place at GBHS Obala, on Monday the 27th of November 2023, hosting all the STEM fields made up of about 250 teachers from both public and private institutions from the Lekie, Mbam and Kim, Mbam and Inoubou and Haute Sanaga Divisions of the Center Region, about 70 Chemistry and Physics teachers were exposed to online resources that are credible and free to use.
The training was held under the theme “Digitalization and Classroom: Best Practices for the Modernization of Teaching and Learning,”. Aspects such as digitizing lesson plans and preparation sheets, integrating EdTech tools into a face-to-face and virtual lesson while using safe resources like the Distance Learning resource and Open Educational Resources were addressed. it was an opportunity to introduce the use of an interactive resource; PhET Interactive simulations.
It was a moment also to introduce to the teachers how Interesting and Innovative our lessons could become, thereby making our teaching of STEM and our approach in teaching Science and Maths interactive by integrating the PhET Interactive simulations, a safe and credible online resource, making the learners more engaged and interact better.
