Panel discussion
During the West Africa Alumni Conference organized by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and IREX, Emmanuel Forbang and Elisee Jafsia, who are members of the Cameroon Fulbright TEA Alumni Associatioon (CAFTAL) had the opportunity to take part in a Panel discussion alongside other educators, viz: Mousa Bengaly from Mali and Ifeoma Ifediba from Nigeria. During this session moderated by Whitney Hough of IREX, they led a discussion related to the use of Educational Technology. Specifically, Elisee shared strategies on the use of technology in low-resource settings, inspiring the audience with his experience as an educator working in a rural area.
He highlighted the commitment and the willingness to innovate and go the extra mile as key to applying technology in low-resource settings. Further, Emmanuel shared on how technology can be integrated into the teaching-learning process to effectively manage large-size classrooms, highlighting the 5Es (Engage, Explore, Explain, Expand, and Evaluate) as a framework that facilitates the management of large-size classrooms.
